JENNIFER JONES Jennifer firmly believes in giving of self as both a gift and a sacrifice, as a form of unconditional love for others. Jennifer has served others by being there and helping as someone passes, helping someone as they watch their home burn, helping to coordinate support as someone requires memory care, and other similar examples. It’s supporting others in their hardest times that we discover how much we have. These are life-changing moments—paychecks of the heart. Jennifer brings her decades-long passion for foster care support. She has worked in government and social service agencies, in roles from a case worker to an executive director. She brings skills from serving in ministry, the U.S. Marine Corps, elementary education in two states, corporate leadership, and being a regional disaster officer. With her travel and multiple cross-country move experiences, she quickly jumped in with New Braunfels Angels after her relocation to New Braunfels in 2024. She loves the area after years of visiting her children and grandkiddos. Jennifer’s grandkids are the reason she knows about our programs. Her daughter’s family was a Love Box recipient. Jennifer enjoyed seeing how that support helped as they progressed through the foster care system. Jennifer has been qualified for respite foster care and knows each foster resource is worth their weight in gold. Jennifer also has adult friends who have come out of the foster care system and continues to support their efforts to grow more resources for those aging out of foster care in multiple states. Her own brief experiences of homelessness (having a job and living in a hotel and disaster shelters for months) give her a perspective on how difficult it is for people suddenly without an address, which can occur as someone ages out of foster care. She is excited to support the New Braunfels Angels. Jennifer’s daughters have also started a non-profit Jones Grace Educational Initiative, which operates the Courage and Grace Learning Center and plans for additional support for foster families. |
