As a child, she volunteered with her mom in a homeless ministry, providing meals and a safe place to sleep. In high school, she helped children at the Comal County Crisis Center with homework and activities while their parents attended counseling. Inspired by these experiences and her philanthropic grandmothers, Anie sought out community organizations wherever she lived. In college, Anie joined Junior Leagues in various cities, connecting with women and children's charities. She managed a non-profit thrift shop, served as a fund development delegate, and organized volunteers. While with the Junior League of Austin, she learned about Austin Angels and started supporting their events. Moved by the impact of their programs, she volunteered with them and later became involved with the New Braunfels chapter of National Angels. Anie also volunteers with CISD and NBISD PTA, school health advisory committees, and various community organizations in New Braunfels. In her spare time, she enjoys sewing, making glass art, and ceramics, while raising five children and spending time with her husband. |
